UNIVERSITY of Southern Philippines Foundation’s top bets in athletics ruled the 1st Run for Justice Visayas yesterday at the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office, Palace of Justice, Capitol Site.

The duo of Riez Enriquez and Joeyry Lee took advantage of the absence of some elite runners, who were away for the 36th National Milo Marathon in Manila.

But it was a close call for Enriquez, who finished with only a five second advantage to runner-up Franie Canumay, who finished in 1:00:25. Canumay’s brother, Peter, arrived five minutes later to land in third place.

It was a different story for Lee, who cruised to finish line ahead of the other female runners.

Lee finished in 1:17:19, followed by ultra running queens Merlita Dunkin (1:23:08) and Virgie Parajenog (1:23:45).
